About the project

This project was an incredible project work on. Not only did we enjoy filming and working with both the Wadawurrung and the CCMA, we learnt so much about what a traditional burn looks like. Incredibly different to fuel reduction burns and a very different connection to the land. Our Producer/Director Jarrod Boord grew up in the county and was a local member of the Country Fire Authority, hence he had seen and participated in many fuel reduction burn in the past. From this project not only did he take away stunning footage and beautiful storyline to share, he also learnt that they way in which we have been burning our country with fuel reduction burns is actually causing more intense wildfires and destroying habitats.
Sometimes the projects we are invited to film are a privilege to be part of.
Thanks for trusting us with this one.

What we loved about the project

Spending time in nature, connecting with country and getting to understand a special ecosystem whilst capturing it for all to learn from.

The Challenges

Working near fires creates all sorts of challenges, from smoke, burns to managing crew and equipment. We LOVE a challenge.
